The Man On Camera

Eric Metcalfe
was born in 1940 in Vancouver and grew up in Victoria. He has maintained an interdisciplinary art practice since the late 1960s, involving performance, video, painting, installation, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, and film. His work has been informed by conceptual art, Fluxus, jazz and film noir (amongst many other interests and activities). In 1973, he co-founded the Western Front artist-run centre in Vancouver. Mr. Metcalfe has a BFA (Visual Arts) with Distinction from the University of Victoria (1970) and has taught at the Emily Carr Institute, the University of British Columbia (as visiting artist), and through the Vancouver School Board. In 2008 he received the Governor General's Award in Visual and Media Arts. He lives in Vancouver.


Lady Justice

Margaret Dragu is celebrating her third decade as a performance artist. She has presented her work in galleries, museums, theatres, nightclubs, libraries, universities and site-specific venues including parks, botanical gardens, and public parade routes across Canada, the west and east coast of the United States, and in western Europe. Margaret is also a film and video artist, writer, choreographer, actor, and radio broadcaster. She is also a fitness instructor and personal trainer at community centres and hospitals in the city of Richmond, BC, specializing in clients with heart/stroke history, osteoporosis, arthritis, and for the visually impaired as well as clients requiring post-rehab and post-surgery programmes. Recent interdisciplinary performances investigate the body by drawing upon a holistic lexicon from both her fine arts and body arts practices including CONSCIOUS CORPUS, CORPUS DELICIOUS, and MARGARET DRAGU’S MUSEUM. Rock Talk Timmy

Graham Meisner
is a composer currently completing his Bachelor of Applied Music degree at the Vancouver Community College School of Music. The role of Rock Talk Timmy is his first acting gig. Graham’s activities have centered around composing various pieces for small vocal and instrumental ensembles. He has also provided soundtracks for various productions and artists' projects. Graham recently completed songs and incidental music for Matilda Aslizadeh’s feature film A Hero of Our Time and is now composing the music for an interactive website project Sign After the X by David Clark and Marina Roy. He first worked with Jeremy Todd creating original music for Dear Guy. He is currently producing a feature length original opera film to be released in late 2008. 



The Voice of The Boy

Arthur Tashian emigrated from Lebanon with his family in the early 1970s. He grew up within the Armenian-American community of Hollywood, California, and now resides in Vancouver. He regularly assists his wife, the artist Matilda Aslizadeh, in the production of her new media, film and video projects. Easter Everywhere is his first stint as a performer of any kind.


Original Music

Nick Lakowski is a Vancouver artist primarily working with paint. He is interested in both histories of modern painting and the role of the artist in relation to society. He received a BFA from the Emily Carr Institute in 2004 and is now obtaining an MFA from the University of British Columbia. He was a founding and active member of the counterpublics collective from 2003-6 and continues to participate in the artist-run cultural community of Vancouver as an artist, writer and musician. Nick headed the short-lived but legendary musical group A.C. Slater, performing country renditions of Slayer songs, and is now collaborating on new musical projects.


Post Production Assistance

Sharon Kahanoff is a filmmaker and artist who has exhibited locally in both galleries and theatres and has published critical writing on the Arts in local magazines and catalogues. The many different roles she has occupied on the sets of other people's films have resulted in awards and international screenings in Europe, China and South America. As a volunteer and board member of Artspeak gallery, Sharon is an active contributor to the art community of Vancouver. In the spring of 2008 she completed The Here To Gathered, a 16mm, 20min film project. She is currently completing her Masters in Fine Arts at Simon Fraser University. 





The Filmmaker

Jeremy Todd is an interdisciplinary artist living in Vancouver who often considers the formation of cultural memory and its socio-political effects. He has been curating, teaching and writing as a part of his practice for the last ten years. He was the Director/Curator of the Helen Pitt Gallery ARC (2003-05) and acted as the interim Director/Curator of the Richmond Art Gallery in 2007. He maintains an online image/text work, Not Sent Letters, while developing new projects. Easter Everywhere is his second digital film, following Dear Guy (2007).
